We have some exciting news for the “One Piece” fans! As you may already know, the anime is set to return with its latest Elbaph arc on 5 April, 2026. Ahead of the release, two new characters and their cast members have been revealed. Fans are excited to meet these two giants in the upcoming arc.
One Piece anime new cast and other details
The two new cast members joining the anime are:
- Ayane Sakura as Gerd
- Ryōta Takeuchi as Road
New character illustrations for both characters have been revealed as well.
It was previously announced that popular VA Kenjiro Tsuda will be voicing Shanks’ evil twin brother Shamrock, who is one of the main antagonists of the upcoming arc.
The One Piece anime went on a three-month long hiatus in January 2026 after the finale of the Egghead arc. It was simultaneously announced by One Piece producer Ryuta Koike that the series will follow a different production style from April. The series will be released in a two-cours-per-year structure and won’t release more than 26 episodes a year. This is to match the manga’s pacing and improve the anime’s quality.
The One Piece anime by Toei Animation, began back in 1999. Based on Eiichiro Oda’s 1997 manga of the same name, which has been serialised for almost three decades in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine. It has 114 collected volumes so far.
