A new trailer and visual featuring the Straw Hats in Elbaph garments have been released.

On the final day of Jump Festa 2026, it was announced that One Piece will be back with its Elbaph arc on 5 April, 2026, at the beginning of the Spring anime season. Previously, it was announced that the popular shonen anime will go on a hiatus for three months starting January, 2026. But now, fans can rest easy after knowing its exact return date with a new arc!

One Piece Elbaph Arc details

The short teaser video of the upcoming arc shows our favourite Straw Hats members in Elbaph garments, which means that they have all safely reached the island of the giants. We also saw a glimpse of the massive giants that reside there. As new adventures begin, Luffy and his teammates’ journey slowly heads towards the finale.

As announced before, the One Piece anime will also start following a different production schedule starting in 2026. Instead of continuous episodes, the series  will be divided into a two-cours-per-year structure, and won’t release more than 26 episodes annually. This will not only improve the pacing and improve animation quality, but also lead to a more faithful adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s manga.

Previously, it was also announced that veteran voice actor Kenjiro Tsuda will be returning to the One Piece anime cast as Shanks’ evil twin Shamrock. As he is one of the main villains of the next arc, fans are excited to see how Tsuda brings him to life.

During the stage event at Jump Festa, a handwritten note from Eiichiro Oda was also revealed. In it, he talked about the upcoming anime arc, as well as the re-adaptation anime called The ONE PIECE, which is already in progress. He also urged people to watch the One Piece live-action series, which is releasing its second season on 10 March 2026. With the cutest new cast addtion Tony Tony Chopper now on board, the series is going towards an exciting direction.

The One Piece anime is based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga series, which began back in July 1997. With more than 27 years of publishing under its belt, the series is one of the the most popular and celebrated manga of all time. The anime began in 1999, and has become one of the most beloved series of all time as well. Crunchyroll currently streams the anime, and describes the story as such:

Monkey D. Luffy refuses to let anyone or anything stand in the way of his quest to become King of the Pirates. With his rubber-like stretching powers granted by the supernatural Devil Fruit, the spirited young pirate seeks the legendary treasure known as the One Piece. He’ll chart a course for the treacherous waters of the Grand Line and recruit a motley crew to build his Straw Hat Pirates one bond at a time. This is one captain who’ll never drop anchor until he and his friends all reach their dreams!
