The series will return in April 2026 with the Elbaph Arc.
The One Piece anime, based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga, is all set to enter a three-month hiatus next year. The official X (formerly Twitter) account of Toei Animation announced that the series will go on a break in January 2026. It will come back three months later in April 2026 with the start of the manga’s Elbaph Arc. Unfortunately, the exact date of the Elbaph Arc’s broadcast is yet to be revealed. Moreover, the anime will also begin its new production schedule next year.
One Piece anime receives a new broadcast schedule
In a livestream event, Ryuta Koike, One Piece's series producer at Toei Animation, revealed that starting April 2026, they will follow a different production style. The anime will be divided into a two-cours-per-year structure, and won’t release more than 26 episodes annually. This is to ensure the anime matches the manga’s pacing, and the overall production quality improves.
A brand new illustration for the upcoming Elbaph Arc has also been released. Along with it also came the illustrations for the Straw Hats in their Elbaph Island gear. Fans are eagerly waiting to see their favourite characters in the new garb as the pirate adventure enters its final leg!
The news for One Piece fans doesn’t quite end here. Netflix has also announced that the second season of the much-awaited One Piece live-action series is coming on 10 March, 2026. Titled ONE PIECE: Into the Grand Line, the series will show our favourite pirates take on a perilous journey and meet new characters.
