We have some unfortunate news for the “RuriDragon” manga fans. Creator Masaoki Shindo has announced that the series’ current hiatus will extend until June 2026. Previously, a new chapter of the manga was set to come out on 27 April, 2026. However, the new postponement means fans don’t know the exact date when the series is coming back.

When is the RuriDragon manga coming back?

The new post by Masaoki Shindo on X (formerly Twitter) reads (machine translated):

The release of Chapter 46, which was scheduled to be published in the digital edition of Weekly Shonen Jump issue 22/23 and Shonen Jump+, which will be released tomorrow, will be postponed.

The update date for Chapter 46 is scheduled for early June.

We sincerely apologize to our readers. Thank you for your understanding.

This means that although chapter 46 of the manga was supposed to be released in the new issue of Shonen Jump, it has been postponed again. The new chapter will be published sometime in early June. Unfortunately, the exact date of the release is still unknown. But fans can keep an eye on our page as we’ll update as soon as new information on the upcoming chapter is available.

What is RuriDragon about?

Masaoki Shindo’s RuriDragon manga was originally published as a one-shot in Shueisha’s Jump Giga magazine in December 2020. Later, it was serialised in the Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in June 2022. In April 2024, the manga was moved to the digital platform Shōnen Jump+. The series has gone on multiple hiatuses before and only has 45 chapters even though it has been serialised for four years. An anime adaptation of the manga has been announced by Kyoto Animation.

Manga Plus and Viz Media release the English translation of the manga digitally. Viz Media describes the story as:

Well, a half dragon. Her mom admits Ruri inherited her draconic traits from her father, who, yes, is actually a dragon. As if dealing with curious classmates wasn’t already challenging enough, Ruri and her dragon genes literally turn up the heat in the middle of a lecture. Her ordinary life is about to be anything but!
