RuriDragon anime adaptation details
The announcement video shares a small animated clip of the titular character Ruri (starting at 1:23). However, the caption of the video says that even though an anime adaptation is coming, the broadcast is still a long way off. The announcement was made on 28 December, which is Ruri’s birthday.
Kyoto Animation is known for their amazing work on Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, City the Animation, Violet Evergarden and many more. Fans are excited to see how they bring the popular RuriDragon manga to life. The manga series is created by Masaoki Shindo, who also released an illustration to commemorate the news.
The RuriDragon manga began publishing in December 2020. Viz Media publishes the series in English, and describes the story as:
Well, a half dragon. Her mom admits Ruri inherited her draconic traits from her father, who, yes, is actually a dragon. As if dealing with curious classmates wasn’t already challenging enough, Ruri and her dragon genes literally turn up the heat in the middle of a lecture. Her ordinary life is about to be anything but!
