AnimeJapan2026 day one came with some long-awaited announcements, beautiful trailers and more!
The yearly AnimeJapan convention is one of the largest anime-related events in the world. This year, the AnimeJapan 2026 is happening over 27 and 28 March, 2026. With the first day coming to a close, here is a list of everything that was revealed today.

What are the announcements from day one of AnimeJapan 2026?
Here are all the new and returning anime series that have received updates today at the event:
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3
A new trailer has been released for the upcoming third season of the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation anime. It revealed the show’s 5 July, 2026 premiere date. Moreover, Haruka Tomatsu and Tetsu Inada are joining the series as Nika Farion and Gal Farion respectively.
Blue Box Season 2
The beloved romance series also revealed a new trailer for the upcoming season. Blue Box Season 2 is set to premiere on 4 October, 2026. Electric Circus will animate the second season, replacing Telecom Animation Film. Yoshino Aoyama is joining the cast as Yumeka Goto, Chinatsu’s old basketball teammate.
SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table
The breakout Winter 2026 anime is getting an anime movie titled SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table 44: CLOUDY BEACH. A teaser trailer for the film has been released, alongside a visual. The movie will premiere on 10 July, 2026, and will get a two-week limited theatrical run in Japan.
PSYREN
REMOW revealed that the anime adaptation of Toshiaki Iwashiro’s manga PSYREN will premiere in October 2026. According to the new key visual announcement, the series will adapt the entire story of the manga to its conclusion.
Sentenced to Be a Hero Season 2
A second season of the popular fantasy battle anime Sentenced to Be a Hero has been confirmed with a teaser trailer. No release date or new cast details have been revealed yet. A new video game titled Sentenced to Be a Hero: Game of the Goddess has been confirmed with some visuals. VIC GAME STUDIOS is developing it.
The Elusive Samurai Season 2
The Elusive Samurai anime is coming back with a second season in July 2026. A new trailer and teaser visual was revealed at AnimeJapan today.
Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life
A new trailer has been released for the upcoming romcom anime Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life. The series is set to debut in July 2026. Some new cast members have joined the series, including:

A new trailer and visual was released for the second season of Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian. It was previously announced that the series’ premiere has been moved to 2027 from 2026.
BLACK TORCH
The upcoming BLACK TORCH anime, based on Tsuyoshi Takaki’s manga, has confirmed its 4 July, 2026 premiere date. Two new voice cast members have been revealed as well. They are:

Kaiju Girl Caramelise
A new trailer has been released for the Kaiju Girl Caramelise anime, based on Spica Aoki’s manga. The series is set to premiere in July 2026.
