The reboot will completely remake World Trigger's first season, which aired in 2014.
In an official announcement through X (formelry Twitter), Toei Animation has confirmed the staff behind the reboot of World Trigger. A special preview, which features character design sheets, has also been unveiled.

What will the World Trigger Reboot be about?
According to the information released last year, the reboot will adapt the first three arcs of the manga the anime is based on, those being the: Border Enlistment Arc, large-scale Neighbor Invasion arc, and the beginning of the B-Rank Wars arc.
Based on Daisuke Ashihara’s 2013-2018 manga series, the World Trigger anime first came out in 2014 and was followed by a sequel season in 2015. The second and third season of the series both premiered in 2021. Crunchyroll currently streams the anime.
Manga Plus and Viz Media publish Ashihara’s manga in English, with Viz also publishing it in print.
