The upcoming witchy fantasy anime “Witch Hat Atelier” has announced its 6 April, 2026 premiere date. Moreover, the official accounts of the series have announced the global simulcast details. A new character and her voice actor have been introduced as well.

Witch Hat Atelier anime simulcast details

The Witch Hat Atelier anime will debut in Japan on 6 April, 2026 on TokyoMX and other networks. Episodes 1 and 2 will premiere simultaneously on Netflix (in select Asian regions), ABEMA, and Crunchyroll globally. Starting on 13 April, new episodes will air one week ahead of the TV broadcast on Netflix, ABEMA, and Crunchyroll.

With this announcement came a new key visual featuring the characters Coho, Qifrey, Agott, Tetia, Richeh, Olruggio, and Brushbuddy.

The new cast member who is joining the anime is Kotono Mitsuishi as the witch Alaira. A new character visual has been revealed. The cast comment reads (machine translation):

The word ‘witch’ is filled with longing and dreams. In fact, when I was a child, I seriously wanted to be one (laughs). But at the same time, it's a double-edged sword that comes with a sense of awe and evil.

The story of children aiming to become witches keeps you glued to the screen, not a single moment revealing their inner turmoil. Sister Alaira is a teacher who respects each child's individual talents. And while she trusts Qifrey, she can't quite shake off her anxiety.

Everyone, please watch Witch Hat Atelier and be enchanted by its wonderfully beautiful magic.

The previously announced cast members of the anime are:

  • Rena Motomura as Coco
  • Natsuki Hanae as Qifrey
  • Hibiku Yamamura as Agott
  • Kurumi Haruki as Tetia
  • Hika Tsukishiro as Richeh
  • Yuichi Nakamura as Olruggio
  • Misaki Kuno as Brushbuddy
  • Mitsuki Saiga as Iguin

Ayumu Watanabe directs Witch Hat Atelier at BUG FILMS, with character designs by Kairi Unabara and music by Yukia Kitamura.

The Witch Hat Atelier anime is based on Kamome Shirahama’s popular manga series which began serialisation in Kodansha’s Morning Two magazine in July 2026. As of November 2025, the series has been collected in 15 volumes. Kodansha also releases the manga in English and describes the story as:

In a world where everyone takes wonders like magic spells and dragons for granted, Coco is a girl with a simple dream: She wants to be a witch. But everybody knows magicians are born, not made, and Coco was not born with a gift for magic. Resigned to her un-magical life, Coco is about to give up on her dream to become a witch…until the day she meets Qifrey, a mysterious, traveling magician. After secretly seeing Qifrey perform magic in a way she’s never seen before, Coco soon learns what everybody “knows” might not be the truth, and discovers that her magical dream may not be as far away as it may seem…
