Doga Kobo is animating the adorable series.
It was announced back in March 2026 that Ichi Yukishiro’s fantasy manga “The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter” (Hone Doragon no Manamusume) is getting adapted into an anime. In its first teaser trailer, the series revealed its 2027 debut and main cast. A main visual of Nemu and Eve has also been unveiled.

The two main cast members of the anime are:
- Kana Hanazawa as Eve (A girl who was abandoned in the Forest of Scraps)
- Kazuhiko Inoue as Nemu (The Skull Dragon who raised Eve)
Kuniyasu Nishina directs the anime at Doga Kobo, with Yuka Yamada handling series composition. Tomoya Atsumi is the character designer, while KUSANAGI, Daiki Kuribayashi and Yuki Hatakeyama are handling the background art.
What is The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter about?
Ichi Yukishiro’s manga series began serialisation on Mag Garden’s Mag Comi website in September 2020. Later, it was transferred to the Monthly Comic Garden magazine in 2022. Six collected volumes of the manga have been published in Japan so far. Seven Seas will publish the sixth volume of the manga in English on 1 December. The manga has been on a hiatus since July, and is set to return in Spring 2027.
J-Novel Club publishes the manga in English digitally and describes the story as:
In the Forest of Scraps, a place where all manner of things are discarded, an old dragon sleeps away his final days—that is, until an abandoned child suddenly appears before him. The tiny human is Eve, and despite being only five years of age, she has somehow endured the many dangers that surround them. In an act of pity, the dragon decides to raise her as his own...but his time is still running out. After five years together, he takes his last breath, leaving his precious daughter on her own. Little does the dragon know, Eve is capable of more than he realizes, and their reunion may be sooner than he thinks...
