New cast members and theme song details have also been revealed.
The fantasy anime “The Beginning After the End”, popularly referred to as TBATE, is coming back with a second season next month!
A new main trailer has confirmed that the series will debut on 1 April, 2026. Moreover, new cast members, opening and ending theme songs, and other details have also been revealed in the new update.
The Beginning After the End Season 2 details
The new cast members joining TBATE Season 2 are:

The main returning cast of the anime includes:

The opening theme song of the series is ‘Sayonara janai hou ga ii’ performed by rock band SIX LOUNGE. The ending theme is ‘Futatsu no Michi’ performed by popular girl group 22/7.
Keitaro Motonaga directs season 2 of the anime at studio A-CAT, with Takamitsu Kouno as the series composer. Masami Sueoka designs the characters while Keiji Inai composes the music. The original novel’s author TurtleMe is a story supervisor as well as an executive producer, with the others being Gabriel le Luu, Mike Zhu, and Kevin Nicklaus. Slow Curve is in charge of the production of the anime.
The Beginning After the End anime is based on an American web novel series written by TurtleMe and illustrated by Fuyuki23. The series began serialisation on the platform Royalroad in October 2015. Later, the series migrated to Tapas in January 2017 where it ended in August 2025. In July 2018, a webtoon adaptation by Fuyuki23 began in Tapas.
Yen Press releases the comic in English and describes the story as:

The first season of The Beginning After the End was met with a lot of controversies due to its subpar animation and fans took to social media to voice their disdain. Even the author TurtleMe released a statement following the backlash in which he addressed his fans who were disappointed by the anime adaptation. However, from the looks of the trailer, it seems that the second season of TBATE will have much better animation.
