The manga artist Yukiko Nozawa has recently announced the news.

It has been announced that the artist for the popular harem romcom manga “The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You” (popularly known as 100 Girlfriends) is going on a maternity leave. Artist Yukiko Nozawa said in a notice that due to her pregnancy, the manga’s release schedule will slow down a bit.

100 Girlfriends manga will change its release schedule

The official X (formerly Twitter) post by Yukiko Nozawa states:

Thank you very much for always supporting “100 Girlfriends”.

I am very sorry for this personal matter, but I will be taking maternity and childcare leave. Accordingly, we will adjust the serialisation pace for a while.

Last year, when I took a break from drawing illustrations due to hospitalization and surgery, I was encouraged by the many warm messages of concern. Thank you very much.

Actually, I found out I was pregnant right after that announcement. As it was my first pregnancy and I couldn't predict the future, I refrained from announcing it until I was in a more stable condition. I deeply apologize for causing concern for a long time.

The serialisation pace will slow down temporarily. But my team and I have prepared several manuscripts in advance for maternity leave. The specific publication dates will be announced on the official account of the series.

After childcare leave, I aim to gradually return to the original weekly pace while considering my physical condition.

Volume 25 of the manga is already complete, and the release date will be announced by the official account later. For Volume 26 and beyond, I will proceed while consulting with Mr. Rikito Nakamura (author) and the editorial department while watching my physical condition.

Supervision work for anime, etc., is proceeding smoothly with the cooperation of all parties involved.

It is heartbreaking for me, both as a manga artist and as a partner in serialization, to keep everyone waiting who is looking forward to updates. However, while enjoying my first pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, I will strive to return in perfect condition as soon as possible.

With gratitude to Mr. Nakamura, who is happily sending me off, and to the editorial department, who supports me, I will do my best.

The exact release schedule of the manga has not been announced yet, but we will likely have an update soon. Fans are really excited about the artist’s first pregnancy experience and wish her all the best.

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You manga, written by Rikito Nakamura and illustrated by Yukiko Nozawa, began publishing in December 2019 in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine. An anime adaptation by Bibury Animation Studios aired from October to December 2023, with a second season following from January to March 2025. A third season of the anime has been confirmed for 2026.

Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in English and describes the story as:

Aijo Rentaro has asked a hundred girls out and struck out every time. In desperation, he prays for guidance, only to be told by a god that his rejections were due to a cosmic mishap! Now this god will set things right by making sure Aijo gets one hundred dates. Except, as things often go with gods, there’s a catch: each of his one hundred dates is Aijo’s destined soulmate! Worse, if he doesn’t return their feelings, they’ll all die in horrible—and hilarious—accidents!
