The film premiers in Japan on 27 February, 2026.
The upcoming anime film “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea” is coming to Southeast Asia! MUSE announced that the second movie in the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime franchise will be released across multiple Southeast Asian countries theatrically.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea gets Southeast Asian theatrical release
Muse Asia’s official Facebook account announced that the film will be released theatrically in multiple Southeast Asian countries. This includes: Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Taiwan, and Indonesia.
Unfortunately, the release dates for the countries have not been announced yet. But seeing as the movie will premiere in Japan on 27 February, 2026, the other countries’ premiere dates will likely be after that. Keep an eye on our page as we will keep you updated on any new developments!
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea cast, staff, and other details
The new voice actors who have joined the film’s cast are:
- Saori Onishi as Yura
- Koichi Domoto as Zodon
- Koji Yusa as Djeese
- Nao Kosaka as Mio
- Kaho Fujishima as Yori
The original cast of the series is also returning for the film. Studio 8-Bit continues to animate the series with Yasuhito Kikuchi as the director. The anime series and movies are based on Fuse’s light novel series of the same name.
The story of the movie takes place after the opening ceremony of the Jura Tempest Foundation. The ruler of the Elf nation of Sarion, Elmesia, invites Rimuru and his friends to a resort island she owns. Rimuru and his companions enjoy the short vacation. However, the appearance of a girl named Yura changes everything, as they are now forced to face a new threat.
