A brand new trailer has been released for “Suikoden: The Anime”, the anime adaptation of the popular Suikoden II video game. The new teaser revealed that the anime will premiere on 3 October, 2026 with a one-hour special episode. Details about the anime’s ending theme song have also been revealed.

The anime’s ending theme song is ‘closed eye sun’ performed by Kōji Nakamura featuring Honoka Takahashi. The song will begin streaming on music platforms starting 4 October, 2026.
The anime’s opening theme song is ‘Kanashimi Sae Otonabite’ (Even in Sadness I'll Look Like an Adult) performed by amazarashi, which is also previewed in the new trailer.

What is the Suikoden anime about?
The Suikoden II game, which the anime is based on, came out back in 1998 on Playstation. It’s a turn-based RPG game published by Konami. Steam describes the story of Suikoden II as:
Our story's hero and his friend Jowy are members of the Unicorn Youth Brigade, which participated in a drawn-out border dispute between the Highland Kingdom and the City-States of Jowston .
