The anime adaptation of the Suikoden II video game, titled “Suikoden: The Anime” has unveiled a brand new trailer. The anime will air in October 2026. The opening theme song of the series ‘Kanashimi Sae Otonobite’ by amazarashi has also been revealed in the trailer. Moreover, three additional cast members have also been introduced.

Yuzo Sato directs the anime at KONAMI Animation while Michihiro Tsuchiya handles series composition. Ryo Yamauchi is the character designer while Fumi Ishikawa from Konami Digital Entertainment is the original character designer for the game. Koji Nakamura is the music composer for the series.

What is Suikoden: The Anime about?
The Suikoden II game, which the anime is based on, came out back in 1998 on Playstation. It’s a turn-based RPG game published by Konami. Steam describes the story of Suikoden II as:
Our story's hero and his friend Jowy are members of the Unicorn Youth Brigade, which participated in a drawn-out border dispute between the Highland Kingdom and the City-States of Jowston .
A few months earlier, a truce agreement was signed between the two forces, both of which were happy to see an end to the fighting.
