It seems that St. Germain is working with the Black Paladins.
The latest chapter of the Dandadan manga came with many shocking moments. It was revealed that Count Saint-Germain is collecting various powers that are connected to the Fairy-Tale Card. It was also finally shown that other than Rin and Kouki’s powers, they were also able to take the powers of two other important characters of the manga. Another massive reveal came in the form of who St. Germain is working with.

Dandadan Chapter 226 recap
The latest chapter of the manga begins with showing a massive and intricate door standing in the middle of nowhere. Inside, there is a palace, but it seems the insides of the building are plagued by dark tree-like roots encompassing the walls. Count Saint-Germain walks inside and faces a man sitting on an intricate throne. He asks the man if he’s adapting to it, and he answers that he feels he can fight with just this. He then reveals Momo Ayase and Unji Zuma’s powers from within, and refers to them as ‘Alice’ and ‘Hansel and Gretel’ respectively.
But Germain says that it’s not time yet. To draw out the intrinsic power of the Fairy-Tale Card, they need six curses. This includes: Alice in Wonderland, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, The Little Mermaid, and The Adventures of Pinocchio. The man on the throne smiles and says hiring him as a consultant was the right idea. At first, when he provided the man with the useless Fairy-Tale Card power, he had doubts about his ability. He asks Germain what’s the point of putting powers inside people if he only plans to take it away. It seems to be a waste of effort.
Just then, a woman appears behind Germain and announces that the Red Baron has arrived. Germain allows him in, and the Baron materialises beside him from smoke. The man on the throne welcomes him and shows off his powers. Red Baron calls the man Sir Vlad, and announces that he has brought two more powers with him. He is happy when Vlad calls him Red Baron, and gets irritated when Germain calls him Heavy Smoker. They start to bicker, and Germain asks why he used forceful measures when he asked him not to. The woman asks the Red Baron for the Kozuka knives. He calls her Shinobi, and asks if she was the one who brought the first two powers.
It’s then revealed that she is able to change her appearance and hid herself amongst the women who helped Momo when she lost consciousness after the fight with Red Baron. When Momo was unconscious, she was able to have a conversation with her in her mind, and tricked her into yielding her power. The Red Baron asks why she didn’t help if she was nearby while he was being humiliated by Jiji and Evil Eye. She apologises. Sir Vlad tells them not to fight as they have both done well. He asks the Shinobi, whose name is Basho, to insert the powers in him.
As the powers enter his body, Sir Vlad seems to convulse for a bit. After that, beside the massive psychic hand of Momo’s powers, and the twin umbrellas of Zuma’s power, two new images appear. The first one is a half human smokey image of Mai Kowabunga, which seems to be The Little Mermaid curse. The second one appears as a massive swarm of insects, which is likely the Snow White curse which previously belonged to Kouki.

The new chapter certainly came with many shocking moments. Firstly, the theme of the fairy tales connecting all the powers are interesting. Momo’s psychic powers relate to Alice because of the magical themes and how she turned small, and Zuma’s powers refer to Hansel and Gretel because of his tragic sibling relationship. It’s likely that Rin’s power is The Little Mermaid because of the singing and turtle themes. In the same way, Snow White is likely related to Kouki as she can control insects (tiny animals). However, it’s still not clear who the Little Red Riding Hood and The Adventures of Pinocchio powers might belong to.
There is a lot of speculation in the fandom after this chapter. This is normal given it basically revealed that Germain is working for the Black Paladins. As mentioned by Seiko before, they’re a group of diviners-for-hire who work with giant conglomerates and help them with their spiritual powers. As Vlad is one of the high rankers of Black Paladin, it will be interesting to see what they ultimately choose to do with the many powers they have been collecting. It comes as a shock that Momo has already lost her powers, but I’m eager to see how the group ultimately fights against these villains.
