“Snowball Earth” anime unveils new cast and more in main trailer

The new trailer for the upcoming “Snowball Earth” anime has been released! It introduces new cast members and features the theme songs of the series. Moreover, a brand new key visual featuring the main characters has also been revealed. The anime is set to premiere on 3 April, 2026.

Snowball Earth anime new cast and other details

The new cast members joining the series are:

  • Tomokazu Sugita as Isseki Sagami
  • Kengo Kawanishi as Nayuta Izumi
  • Tomohiro Ono as Tamiya Sakurai
  • Manami Narahira as Yuma Uzuki
  • Anna Nagase as Otoichi Kinoe
  • Chitose Morinaga as Makoto Saionji
  • Maki Kawase as Riko Akagi

Previously announced main cast of the anime are:

  • Takuto Yoshinaga as Tetsuo Yabusame
  • Daisuke Hirakawa as Yukio
  • Ami Koshimizu as Ao Nogi
  • Konomi Tamura as Hagane Takamura

The ending theme song of the anime is ‘Ima Kono Mune ni Tagiru no wa’ performed by Ai Higuchi. 

Munehisa Sakai directs the Snowball Earth anime at Studio Kai, with Takeshi Iwata as the assistant director. Shigeru Murakoshi is the series composer while Toshiya Kono is the character designer and chief animation director. Tatsuya Kato, Hiroaki Tsutsumi, Yuki Kanesaka are composing the music. Other staff members include:

The original manga author Yuhiro Tsujitsugu drew a celebratory illustration to go along with the new announcements. 

The Snowball Earth manga by Yuhiro Tsujitsugu began serialisation in Shogakukan’s Big Monthly Comic Spirits in January 2021. Viz Media publishes the manga in English and describes the series as:

Yukio was destroyed in battle and Tetsuo survived in an escape pod. After eight years in cold sleep, the escape pod finally lands back on Earth. But when Tetsuo emerges he finds a world in ruins, entirely frozen beneath a blanket of ice and snow—snowball Earth! What happened to humanity, how did the planet freeze over, and will Tetsuo be able to keep his last promise to Yukio?
