Momo and Okarun are still being chased by the Mummy and Serpo aliens.
In true Dandadan fashion, Momo and Okarun can’t catch their breath even now when one of them has lost her memories. On their unofficial date, which just started to turn romantic, they were attacked by some Serpo aliens, who seemed to be taking the help of a bicycling Mummy to hunt the teenagers.
In the latest chapter of the manga, we see the Mummy use its unique power. Thankfully, Okarun has figured out the way to use the Ogre Club Seiko had given him.

Dandadan Chapter 216 recap
Okarun and Momo stand stunned in front of the bizarre crowd in front of them. In the suddenly darkened road, we see a bunch of creepy Serpo aliens and a Mummy on a bicycle staring at the two teenagers. Okarun grabs Momo’s hand and starts running in the opposite direction. Their attackers start chasing them and Momo asks what’s going on. Okarun tells her not to look back while thinking this happened at the worst time because neither him nor Momo can use any supernatural powers right now.
Three of the Serpo aliens use a psychic attack, which Okarun stops, causing him to fall. The aliens wonder how he repelled the attack while Okarun relates it to being tackled by a gorilla. However, he realises his ability to handle these attacks have improved a lot, and remembers his special training with Manjiro to strengthen his spirituality. Momo starts blowing on the whistle their weird teacher gave her and starts yelling for help.
Okarun tells her not to do that because there’s no one around to help them and blowing on it will only cause her to lose her breath. Instead, he directs her towards Jiji’s place, as he might be able to help them. At the back, a Serpo alien calls the Mummy ‘Mr. Dris’ and asks why he’s going so slow. Instead of talking, the Mummy points his long sword forward. The white bandage on his body starts unravelling and he starts riding his bicycle on that singular strip.
Momo realises that the Serpo aliens have surrounded them. But before she can do anything, suddenly, the floor from beneath her vanishes. Okarun catches her before she can fall and pulls her up. We realise that the asphalt part of the road has turned into a pit of darkness while only the white writings on the street can be used as solid ground. Momo and Okarun stand on one of these writings while the Serpo aliens start falling into the darkness around them, proving that they’re not impervious to this either. They realise that everything that’s not white has turned into a pit.
One of the Serpo aliens asks Mr. Dris what he’s doing, then tells him to capture Momo and Okarun by any means necessary. It doesn’t matter if they’re dead or alive. Momo asks who these people are and Okarun tells her that they’re being attacked by aliens right now. The Mummy attacks them with the sword, which unleashes a massive slice. However, the attack is mostly ineffective as Okarun seems to have stopped it with the tiny stick Seiko gave him. Although his arm is injured, he finally understands how to use the Ogre Club. Remembering his training with Manjiro, he channels his energy into the stick and its starts growing larger while glowing bright light.
Dandadan Chapter 216 review
If you told me that Dandadan will feature a freaking lightsaber someday, I’d probably believe you. With what has already happened in the manga, nothing surprises me anymore. I’m glad that Okarun figured out how to use this weapon and I’m excited to see what it does. Using a weapon will be completely different from Okarun’s usual fighting style, which will be interesting to see. I also wonder if the creepy teacher Sanjome will appear after hearing Momo’s whistles, or if he’s connected to this attack somehow. Either way, I’m glad to see Momokarun back in action together after missing them for so long.
