The anime will be released in April 2026.
The previously announced controversial anime “Needy Streamer Overload” (Needy Girl Overdose in Japan), based on the visual novel game of the same name, has unveiled a new cast member. The second promotional video of the anime also revealed the opening theme song.

The new voice actor who has joined the cast is Anna Nagase, who will be voicing Kache, a vocational school student who works at a themed concept cafe.
The opening theme song ‘Internet Angel’ will be performed by KAngel (Chōten-chan), the main character of the anime. Aiobahn +81, the franchise’s musical composer scored and arranged the song while writer Nyalra penned the lyrics.
A brand new streamer unit was created specifically for the anime. Titled Karamazov, the unit’s cast includes:

- Satsuki Shiina as Michika Gokubara
- Seena Hoshiki as Nechika-sama
Masaoki Nakajima directs the anime at Yostar Pictures. Kenji Saikai, Akari Takei, and Kaito Shimizu are designing the characters while Aiobahn +81, Sasuke Haraguchi and DÉ DÉ MOUSE compose the music. The original story was created by Nyalra, while Ohisashiburi created the original character designs.

An advanced screening of the anime’s compilation movie titled Needy Girl Overdose -Overture- will start playing at the Theatre Shinjuku in Tokyo, and Theatre Umeda in Osaka on 6 March, 2026.
The anime is based on the 2022 visual novel game developed by Xemono and written by Nyalra. Back in November 2025, Nyalra released a statement saying the game and anime’s publisher WSS Playground had removed him from promotional activities and management of the anime completely. He also accused the company of withholding payments, and that his legal representatives are reviewing the matter.
The official Steam page of the game describes the story as:
NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD is a “multi-ending ADV” depicting daily life with “OMGkawaiiAngel”, a young girl with a rather extreme need for approval attempting to become the #1 “Internet Angel” (streamer). Gradually build up OMGkawaiiAngel’s number of followers as she spends her days streaming, using various ”stress relievers”, and generally being kinda messed up. Experience all the different crazy ups and downs and find out for yourself whether this story is even capable of having a happy ending.
