Momo and Okarun probably aren’t going on a date anytime soon.
In the previous chapter of the Dandadan manga, we finally saw Okarun ask Momo out on a date after beating her in a staring contest. But it seems that Tatsu isn’t ready to give us Momokarun as of yet as in the recent update, as we saw how angry Momo got with Okarun for his behaviour. After they argue in front of their friends, Vamola asks if the group should go on a date together. Elsewhere, Kouki and Rin are seen on an outing, which turns dangerous very quickly.

Dandadan Chapter 221 recap
The issue begins with Momo yelling at Okarun saying she’ll never go on a date with him. Okarun, who is also frustrated, says it was just a joke and leaves, but Vamola doesn’t understand why she’s angry. Okarun feels bad about his actions, as it seems he was trying to force Momo to do something she doesn’t want, especially because she still doesn’t remember anything. But Momo seems to feel some flutters in her heart as she starts to blush after Okarun leaves.
The next morning, Okarun visits Manjiro and tells him that his cleaning and scrubbing training worked, as now he can use the Ogre Club. As he activates it, Manjiro is surprised and asks if he can try. However, the club doesn’t activate when he tries it. He then confesses that the cleaning routine wasn’t actual training, but chores that Manjiro was supposed to do.
Okarun then sees Aira and Jiji while on his way to school. He tells them about the alien attack he and Momo faced the day before. He asks the two of them to protect Momo, as neither she nor Okarun have any powers right now. When Aira asks about Vamola, Jiji reminds her that she can’t fight now as her Kaiju suit was destroyed. Aira then asks if some of Momo's memory is back, since she also saw the aliens, and Okarun sadly answers that it hasn’t. He then tells Jiji and Aira that he wants them to try something.
Momo and Vamola approach them, but Momo turns her face angrily as soon as she sees Okarun. She and Okarun start to bicker when she reminds him that he suddenly asked her out on a date yesterday, and he calls her a creep. Aira freaks out after finding this and the three of them start arguing. Seeing them fight, Vamola suggests that they should all go on a date together.
The next panel shows a mall, where Kouki and Rin seem to be spending time together. Rin starts excitedly talking about vampire media after learning that Kouki likes them too. The two start discussing their favourite types of vampires when suddenly, everything around them goes dark. The girls look around, confused, and spot three figures standing in the corner.

Yukinobu Tatsu continues to bait us with more Momokarun crumbs, but I’m still holding on hope that we’ll see them go on an actual date in this arc. Vamola’s idea of a group outing was pretty cool, as it will give Momo more time to hang out with Okarun and become comfortable with him. But it seems before that happens, we will see Kouki and Rin face some evil weirdos in the mall. I’m excited to see more of this new duo and their fighting skills!
