The weirdest Isekai anime you’ll probably ever watch has just released a new trailer. “Megami ‘Isekai Tensei Nani ni Naritai desu ka’ Ore ‘Yusha no Rokkotsu de’” (Goddess: “What Do You Want to Turn Into When You're Reincarnated in Another World?” Me: “Into a Hero's Rib”) announced its 7 April, 2026 premiere. Moreover, the theme songs of the series are also featured in the PV.

The opening theme song of the anime is ‘Tensai Ganbo’ performed by shuketsuclub, while the newly-announced ending theme is ‘Nan Nan Desu Ka?’ performed by shallm. The trailer also gives fans a look into all the craziness this fantasy comedy will bring.
The cast of the anime so far includes:
- Atsushi Abe as ‘I/Me’ (protagonist)
- M.A.O as Goddess
- Daisuke Namikawa as Master Sockeye Salmon
- Toshihiko Seki as Tanaka-san
- Show Hayami as God of Creation
- Takahiro Ogata as Joke
The anime has a massive cast which includes voice actors such as: Kana Asumi, Yuka Iguchi, Marina Inoue, Yūji Ueda, Yūma Uchida, Megumi Ogata, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Tomoko Kaneda, Ayako Kawasumi, Ayana Taketatsu, Shigeru Chiba, Miina Tominaga, Kazuya Nakai, Yōko Hikasa, Nobuyuki Hiyama, Yoshikazu Hirano, Minori Fujidera, Maxwell Powers, Rica Matsumoto, Shinichirō Miki, and Ayumu Murase. However, the exact roles they will be voicing haven’t been revealed yet.
Yasufumi Soejima directs the anime at studios Qzil.la and S.o.K. Zipper Sojo handles series composition while Miki Matsumoto designs the characters. Kopo is credited for image illustration while Kagiji Kumanomata is in charge of the original animation character designs. Yuta Uraki, Kayo Konishi, Yukio Kondo, Nomi (VSQ sports) and Shunya Watanabe are composing the music.
The outlandish and crazy Isekai anime is based on Antai’s web novel series of the same name which released its chapters on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from November 2017 to December 2024. Takarajimasha later published it as a light novel with illustrations by Mebaru in January 2021.
The story of the series revolves around the protagonist who is simply known as ‘I’. When he reincarnates into another world, he meets the goddess who has the power to grant the reincarnated souls a form in this new world. However, the most popular forms such as the ‘Demon King’ or ‘Hero with Cheat Skills and a Harem’ all have 50,000 years long waiting lists. The protagonist thus decides to live his life as the most bizarre forms, such as the ‘Hero’s rib’, a hermit crab, or a vegetable.
