The anime will stream exclusively on Disney+.
Game creator Hideo Kojima unveiled a new Death Stranding anime in the works at the Disney+ Originals Preview, which occurred at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort today, 13 November (Thursday).
The anime is different from the initially-announced “Death Stranding: Mosquito” series that Kojima had revealed during the Kojima Productions 10th anniversary livestream back in May.
This new project, with the working title “Death Stranding Isolations” is set to exclusively premiere on Disney+ in 2027.

The new entry to the expanding Death Stranding franchise will feature a wholly original story separate to that of the video games, and will follow a young man and woman as they set out on an adventure.
Kojima also revealed part of the staff working on the series: Takayuki Sano, who worked as animation director for Attack on Titan’s final season, will be helming as director at E&H Production.
E&H Production is known for anime titles like “Ninja Kamui”, “Bullet/Bullet”, and the upcoming “Undead Unluck: Winter Arc”.
Ilya Kuvshinov, who worked on the character design for “Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045” provided the concept art for the two main characters showcased during the announcement. The illustrator is also the character designer for the series. Kojima is tagged as the executive producer.

Lonesome souls of the dead manifest in the physical world, reaching in search of the living. Helmed by E&H’s Takayuki Sano, it follows in the footsteps of the original in spirit and ideas and depict the world of Death Stranding through a bold and yet subtle touch and top-class hand-drawn animation.
Somewhere in North America, just as Sam Bridges walks through the continent in order to save America, the someones are also trying to deal with their isolation in their own way. An old man trying to realize salvation through ways outside of the connection advocated by Bridges. A female warrior who tries to kickstart a world of constant fighting. A boy with a grudge against Bridges. A girl who embraces loneliness.
On the precipice of the end of humanity and the world, their fates and hopes converge, as another story of Death Stranding begins.
