Chihiro's quest for vengeance is finally getting the anime treatment!
The day has finally come, Bachibros. Shueisha has unveiled that Takeru Hokazono's smash hit action-dark fantasy manga, “Kagurabachi”, is finally geting an anime adaptation!
The news, which was revealed through Shueisha's Jump Press livestream on Monday, 27 April, included reveals for a teaser visual, teaser video, main staff, Chihiro's voice actor, and a broadcast window: April 2027.

Who is in the staff of Kagurabachi?
Tetsuya Takeuchi, who is known for doing key animation for Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, is taking on the mantle as director for Kagurabachi at Cypic.
This will be the first anime project for Cypic, formerly known as Cygames Pictures, after becoming a consolidated subsidiary to CyberAgent just this February.
The characters for the Kagurabachi anime project is designed by Keigo Sasaki, who has worked on Blue Exorcist and Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray.
Shochiku and CyberAgent are working jointly on the production.
Who is in the cast of Kagurabachi?
Taihi Kimura will be voicing main character Chihiro Rokuhira. A fairly new voice actor whose career started in 2025, he has voiced in Flower and Asura, Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse, and The Beginning After the End. For the current Spring anime season, he also features in anime titles like Nippon Sangoku and Liar Game.
Unfortunately, no other cast has been revealed.
What did Takeru Hokazono say about the Kagurabachi anime?
Series author Takeru Hokazono released a statement celebrating the anime adaptation. In full, it reads:
You know the Rock Lee vs. Gaara fight in Naruto? The manga version is great of course, but isn't the anime version just incredibly cool?
Well, the very person who brought that scene to life is our director! Woo!
The staff is full of amazing people who really know the manga iside and out.
I can't wait to see how the animation turns out! Definitely a must-watch!

Additionally, Taihi Kimura, who voices Chihiro, released a comment to celebrate his casting, it reads:

What is Kagurabachi about?
Kagurabachi began serialisation in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2023, and boomed in online popularity worldwide thanks to its first chapter being memed. Since then, the series has shown great success, and currently has 10 volumes offiially released.
An English translation is published through Viz Media and Shueisha's Manga Plus platform.
The story is officially described as:
Flames of resolve, kindled by hatred.
Chihiro Rokuhira is a boy who aspires to become a swordsmith, and took daily training under his father Kunishige, a renowned swordsmith. Their days, once filled with laughter, are brutally torn apart by an attack from the mysterious sorcerer organization, the Hishaku.
