The Japanese media advertising company, CyberAgent, announced that the anime production company, CygamesPictures, will become their consolidated subsidiary on 27 February, 2026. CygamesPictures will also change its name to CyPic. The official name change will take place on 6 April, 2026.
CygamesPictures will become CyberAgent’s direct consolidated subsidiary
Previously, CygamesPictures was a subsidiary of CyberAgent’s subsidiary Cygames. However, with the new changes, CygamesPictures will become a direct consolidated subsidiary of CyberAgent. Under the new name CyPic, the company will continue to work on anime production, but under a new structure. CyPic’s classification will also change from games to media and IP.
Nobuhiro Tanaka will continue as the president and CEO of CyPic. Takahiro Yamamuchi, who is CyberAgent’s President and Representative Director, will serve as the new director of CyPic along with Jōji Seita. CygamesPictures will celebrate its 10th anniversary on 5 April, and a day later on 6 April, the name change will take place to commemorate the new journey. It is also likely that more anime projects will be announced after these changes.
CyberAgent was founded back in 1998. The massive digital advertising company established Cygames in 2011. Cygames has produced popular games such as Uma Musume Pretty Derby, Rage of Bahamut, and Granblue Fantasy. In 2016, the subsidiary company Cygames Pictures was established as an anime production division. Since then, Cygames Pictures has produced anime adaptations of games such as Uma Musume Pretty Derby, Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray, Granblue Fantasy the Animation, Rage of Bahamut Genesis, and Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul. It also produced an original anime titled Apocalypse Hotel, and the anime adaptation of Mokumokuren’s horror manga The Summer Hikaru Died.
