The Haikyu!! RECEPTION #3 livestream programme took place on 19 August, 2026, which is Haikyu!! Day. Many exciting projects were announced during the livestream, including a two-volume manga focusing on the protagonist Shoyo Hinata and the deuteragonist Tobio Kageyama. Titled “Haikyu!! Character Remix: Bonds – Hinata and Kageyama” the manga volumes will be released together in Japan on 4 September, 2026.

What is Haikyu!! Character Remix: Bonds – Hinata and Kageyama manga about?
The two volumes of the new manga will “passionately unravel the ‘bonds’ woven and connected by Hinata and Kageyama.”
It will begin from the moment they met at the middle-school volleyball tournament and continue till the end where they meet again during the V. League Arc. Fans will be able to read how Hinata and Kageyama went from rivals to friends over the 402 chapters of the original manga.
The two volumes of the Haikyu!! Character Remix: Bonds – Hinata and Kageyama will have 656 pages.
What else was announced during the Haikyu!! RECEPTION #3 livestream?
The new manga was not the only important announcement made during the livestream. A new teaser visual was revealed for the upcoming movie Haikyu!! vs. The Little Giant (Haikyu!! vs. Chiisana Kyojin), and a trailer was released for the TV special Haikyu!! The Place Where Monsters Go (Haikyu!! Bakemonotachi no Iku Tokoro). Both of the projects will air in 2027.
A collaboration between Haikyu!! and Japan SV League was announced. Original manga creator Haruichi Furudate drew illustrations of Kotaro Bokuto, Korai Hoshiumi and Kiyoomi Sakusa for the collab, which will help promote the league as it takes place.
Black Clover manga creator Yuki Tabata drew an illustration of Haikyu!!’s popular character Tooru Oikawa for the Haikyu!! Volleyball Card Game!! BREAK booster pack, titled ‘Talent and Sense.’ Fans can now order the booster pack, which will be released on 24 October.
A new illustration of Tobio Kageyama was also revealed for the Haruichi Furudate Haikyu!! Exhibition: Challengers. The exhibition focuses on the development of characters such as Hinata, Kageyama, and more. It will take place at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo, Japan from 30 October, 2026 to 11 January, 2027.
New information about the Haikyu!! stage play production was also revealed. Titled ‘Winners and Losers’ the next part of the play will introduce Date Tech players.
The livestream also touched upon the Haikyu!! TOUCH AND CONNECT, a puzzle game which was released earlier in 2026.
What is Haikyu!! about?
The Haikyu!! anime is adapted from Haruichi Furudate’s manga series of the same name. It was serialised in Shuisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from 2012 to 2020. The anime first began in 2014, with the second season following in 2015. The third season came out in 2016, and the fourth was released over two split cours in 2020. The final part of the manga was decided to be adapted into two movies. The first one came out in 2024, and the second and final is slated for 2027.
