We caught a glimpse of the first two episodes of the Season 3 Cour 2 at the Crunchyroll advanced screening at AFA 2025.
The Anime Festival Asia (AFA) 2025 took place during the weekend and brought some amazing guests, performances, and anime merch. However, what we are most excited to share with you are the advanced screening of some upcoming Winter 2025 anime series that Crunchyroll has exclusively streamed during the event. Now that Fire Force Season 3 Cour 2 has revealed its 9 January, 2026 release date, it’s time for us to tell you what we felt about the advanced world premiere of the first two episodes!
Fire Force Season 3 Cour 2 is brimming with emotions and nonstop action
The first episode of the second cour begins with Shinra waking up, after being stuck in a dream ever since the first Pillar appeared. It seems that there is something curious afoot as people start telling him about his unfamiliar and dangerous behaviour for the past few months, even though Shinra himself remembers none of it. As more and more pillars start appearing in the sea and the number of infernals and cases of spontaneous combustion increases, the Tokyo Special Fire Force has their work cut out for them in future.
The second episode of the second cour, however, shifts the focus away from Shinra and puts the spotlight on Tokyo FFS Company 7 Captain Benimaru Shinmon. As he is faced with an unlikely enemy from the past, we see a glimpse of what made Benimaru the man he is today. The emotions are high in this episode, and the action scenes were perfectly executed. Get ready to face your feelings with the first two episodes of the final cour of Fire Force Season 3!
Without giving you too many spoilers, we can assure you that you won’t be disappointed with the upcoming cour of the anime. From the incredible voice performances to the smooth animations and exciting battle sequences, it’s all a good shonen should be. And if you still haven’t watched the anime, then it’s the perfect time to catch up on it on Crunchyroll.
Fire Force Season 3 Cour 2 is ready to burn the screens down
From the looks of it, Fire Force Season 3 Cour 2 is all ready to ignite the flame once again. Nothing encapsulates the upcoming season’s excitement than ‘Ignis’ by Takanori Nishikawa and the ending theme song ‘Speak of the Devil’ by Survive Said The Prophet. Crunchyroll will stream the series as it airs in Japan along with all previous seasons.
Tatsuma Minamikawa continues to direct the final season of the anime at Davis Production with Hideyuki Morioka designing the characters. Sei Tsuguta is writing the scripts. The series is based on Atsushi Ohkubo’s manga of the same name. Crunchyroll describes its overall story as:
Tokyo is burning, and citizens are mysteriously suffering from spontaneous human combustion all throughout the city! Responsible for snuffing out this inferno is the Fire Force, and Shinra is ready to join their fight. Now, as part of Company 8, he’ll use his devil’s footprints to help keep the city from turning to ash! But his past and a burning secret behind the scenes could set everything ablaze.
