The beloved movie is streaming globally now.
Letterboxd revealed the 2025 Year in Review lists on 12 January, 2026. “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc” surpassed every title to become the highest rated overall movie of 2025. The anime film also topped several other categories in Letterboxd’s Year in Review.
Chainsaw Man – The Movie Reze Arc tops Letterboxd’s 2025 chart
MAPPA’s Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is the highest rated overall movie of 2025 on Letterboxd. It has a 4.4 rating out of 5 stars, overthrowing titles like Sinners, Marty Supreme, Hamnet, and One Battle After Another.
However, this is not the only Letterboxd list that the Reze arc movie topped. It was also placed first in the Highest Rated Asian Film, Highest Rated Animation, Highest Rated Directorial Debut (Tatsuya Yoshihara) categories.
The voice actor Kikunosuke Toya (Denji), and English-dub voice actors Ryan Colt Levy (Denji), Alexis Tipton (Reze), Casey Mongillo (Angel Devil), and Suzie Yeung (Makima), also thanked everyone in the Letterboxd community for their love in a video message.
The Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc premiered in Japan on 19 September, 2025. By the end of the year, it surpassed JP¥ 10 billion in domestic earnings. Tatsuya Yoshihara directed the film at MAPPA, while Hiroshi Seko wrote the screenplay. It’s a direct sequel to the first season of the Chainsaw Man anime, which came out in 2022.

MAPPA has also announced that a second season of the beloved Chainsaw Man anime is already in the works. A short video commemorating the upcoming season has been released as well.
The Chainsaw Man anime is based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga series of the same name. Viz Media publishes the manga in English and describes the story as:
