The 2026 Ignatz Awards have finally revealed all the nominees, and Akino Kondoh’s manga “Box Garden Beetle” is one of them. The manga series has been nominated in the Outstanding Collection category.
What are the other nominees for the Ignatz Awards Outstanding Collection category?
Akino Kondoh’s Box Garden Beetle manga was released in English by Glacier Bay Books in May 2026. The collection was translated by Ryan Holmberg, with lettering by Tim Sun. Holmberg and Emuh Ruh were the editors.

Originally, Box Garden Beetle was published in Japan in 2004 by Seirinkogeisha. Glacier Bay Books describes the story as:
Unfurling fields of morning glories and buttony polka dots. Wormholes of childhood memories and cabinets of magical curiosities. Balletic bands of laughter and creeping stippled shadows.
The Ignatz Awards are named after the character from George Herriman's comic Krazy Kat. The award aims to reward the “outstanding achievement in comics and cartooning”.
