The winners were announced by Japan Society and Anime NYC. 

The winners for the 3rd American Manga Awards winners were announced on 20 August, 2026, on the first night of Anime NYC. The winning manga titles include Billy Bat, The Summer Hikaru Died, Cocoon, and many other titles.

Best New Manga

Winner: Billy Bat Volume 1 by Naoki Urasawa (Kana/Abrams ComicArts)

The other nominees in the category were:

Moreover, two people were inducted into the Manga Publishing Hall of Fame:

  • Advisor and former Executive Director in the Board of Directors for Tuttle-Mori Agency, Chigusa Ogino, 
  • Co-founder of Vertical and editorial director of Kodansha USA Ioannis Mentzas (awarded posthumously)

Princess Jellyfish and Tokyo Tarareba Girls mangaka Akiko Higashimura was also awarded with the American Manga Award of Distinction. 

The 2025 American Manga Awards winners included: The winners included The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy at All, The Apothecary Diaries, Tamaki & Amane, Ashita no Joe: Fighting for Tomorrow, The Otaku Love Connection, and Planetes Deluxe Edition.
