A brand new festive trailer has been released for the upcoming second season of the “You and I Are Polar Opposites” anime. The season is set to premiere on 5 July, 2026. The new teaser video has unveiled the opening theme song ‘Nekojaraashi’ performed by 7co. 

Crunchyroll will stream the second season of the romcom anime outside of Japan as it releases.

Who are the cast and staff of You and I Are Polar Opposites Season 2?

The returning cast of the anime includes:

  • Sayumi Suzushiro as Miyu Suzuki
  • Shogo Sakata as Yusuke Tani
  • Anji Iwata as Kentaro Yamada
  • Kokoro Omori as Natsumi Nishi
  • Wataru Katoh as Shuji Taira
  • Miyuri Shimabukuro as Shino Azuma
  • Konatsu Hirabayashi as Aoi Sato
  • Yuna Taniguchi as Manami Watanabe
  • Tomori Kusunoki as Rikako Honda

Takakazu Nagamoto directs the anime at Lapin Track, with Teruko Utsumi writing the scripts and also serving as the animation producer. Mako Miyako designs the characters while Naho Kozono is the sub-character designer and chief animation director alongside Sayuri Sakimoto. tofubeats composes the music. 

The main animator of the first season Tamami Izawa joins the second season staff as additional chief animation director alongside Sara Sakoe. Eriko Kimura is the sound director. 

What is You And I Are Polar Opposites about?

The anime is based on Kōcha Agasawa’s manga series of the same name which began publishing in January 2021. The first season of the anime came out on 11 January, 2026. Viz Media releases the manga series in English and describes the story as:

Suzuki’s a high school girl in love, but the guy she’s fallen for is nothing like her! While she’s cheerful, outgoing, and always trying to fit in, her classmate Yusuke Tani is stoic, quiet, and doesn’t seem to care what people think of him. Will Suzuki be able to overcome her anxieties and ask him out, or will she discover that opposites really don’t attract?
