The romcom manga series “Yang Can’t Live Alone” (Yang-senpai wa Hitori de Ikiteikenai) will end its serialisation on the MangaUP platform with the third part of Chapter 15, coming out on 13 August. The manga creator sooncha has revealed that it is due to “a breakdown in our trusting relationship with MangaUP!”. The author has also said that they are trying to reclaim the copyrights from publisher Square Enix so they can continue the manga elsewhere in future.

Due to a breakdown in our trusting relationship with MangaUP, we have decided to discontinue the serialization of “Yang Can’t Live Alone” with chapter 15, part 3, which will be released on 13 August.
We sincerely apologize to our readers for having to make this announcement just before the release of volume 3. Further details will be announced by MangaUP in the future.
Regarding volume 3, which will be released on August 6th, we have been told that it is not possible to stop the release of both the print and digital versions, so if you are concerned, we would appreciate it if you could take measures such as canceling your order.
We are currently in discussions with the editorial department regarding the withdrawal of copyright in order to ensure that we can deliver the continuation of “Yang Can’t Live Alone.”

Not only is the creator cancelling the manga’s serialisation due to a breakdown of trust between them and MangaUP/ Square Enix (the original publisher), but they are also trying to reclaim the rights of the manga from Square Enix so the series can continue elsewhere in future.
The third compiled book volume of the manga will ship in Japan on 6 August, as it’s not possible to cancel it. But the author has urged fans to cancel their pre-orders if they feel uncomfortable.

Square Enix Manga & Books was set to publish the first compiled book volume of the English translation on 15 September, but that’s likely not happening. sooncha is yet to announce where the manga might shift to after the serialisation is cancelled.
