Yaiba: Samurai Legend story and other details

The plot of Gosho Aoyama’s original manga series revolves around Yaiba Kurogane, a young boy who lives in the forest. He is an incredible Samurai, but doesn’t know much else. One day, he and his father are transported to the city accidentally. Yaiba discovers that he’s actually a legendary warrior destined to fight Takeshi Onimaru, a demonic high school student. Yaiba and his friends take on an adventurous journey together to make sure he becomes the best swordsman.

The manga serialised in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine from 1988 to 1993. The first anime adaptation was pretty popular and had a total of 52 episodes, which aired from April 1993 to April 1994. The new anime will probably bring more interested viewers to the classic series.
