“Wistoria Wand and Sword” Season 3 announced

The second season of the anime has come to an end. 

The 12th and final episode of “Wistoria: Wand and Sword” Season 2 was released on Sunday, 28 June. Right after the episode aired, a short teaser video was released to announce that Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 3 has already been green-lit. Sayaka Ono, the anime’s character designer, drew a new visual of Will Serfort to celebrate the news.

What do we know about Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 3 so far?

The production of the anime’s Season 3 has been confirmed. Unfortunately, no other details for the upcoming season have been revealed so far.

However, considering the pace of Season 2, it is likely that this new upcoming season will finally focus on the Traitor Investigation arc of the story, beginning with Chapter 41.

Mai Nakahara joined the second season as Clairie Serah.

Hideaki Nakano directed the second season of the Wistoria: Wand and Sword at studio Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures, while the first season’s director Tatsuya Yoshihara was the General Director. Sayaka Ono was the character designer and chief animation director, while Yuki Hayashi composed the music. 

The first season of the anime aired from July to September 2024, while the second season debuted on 12 April, 2026 and ended on 28 June, 2026.

The author Fujino Omori has also released a celebratory statement for season 3 with an illustration from Toshi Aoi. 

What is Wistoria: Wand and Sword about?

The anime is adapted from the popular fantasy manga series written by Fujino Ōmori and illustrated by Toshi Aoi. It began publishing in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in December 2020. The 15th compiled book volume of the series was released on 9 April.

Kodansha publishes the manga in English and describes the story as:

Will Serfort dreams of keeping his promise to a childhood friend by becoming a Magia Vander, one of the mighty magicians who sit atop the Wizard’s Tower. However, he is unable to cast even the simplest of spells, leaving him to fight dungeon monsters to earn credits at Regarden Magical Academy. As if that weren’t enough, he finds himself putting his sword skills to the test against a bullying professor!
