The film will be released theatrically in Japan on 26 December, 2025.
The upcoming anime movie Whoever Steals This Book just dropped two new trailers ahead of its 26 December release. One of the trailers is 60 seconds long, while the other is a shorter 30-second version of the same. Additionally, the official website and social media accounts of the movie have also revealed five new voice cast members.

The Whoever Steals This Book anime movie is based on a novel written by Nowaki Kukamidori. It also has a manga adaptation illustrated by Kakeru Sora. Yen Press publishes the novel and manga in English and describes the story as:
Descended from a long line of book collectors, high school student Mifuyu is surrounded by books in every aspect of her life. Her great-grandfather established the famous Mikura Hall, a library in the heart of town, and even the townspeople are all avid readers. There’s just one problem—Mifuyu hates books!
