“We Are Aliens” movie unveils additional cast ahead of 25 September premiere

Ahead of its 25 September Japanese premiere, the upcoming anime movie “We Are Aliens” (Wareware wa Uchuujin) unveiled new cast members. Kōhei Kadowaki is the writer and director of the original film.

Animator Kōhei Kadowaki is credited as planner, scriptwriter, director, storyboard artist, and editor.  French studio Miyu Productions is credited for production cooperation, joining the project in June 2025. NOTHING NEW is also credited for planning and production. Yffle is the music composer. 

The movie's theme song is ‘Sasakure’ (Split) performed by Adieu. 

What is We Are Aliens about?

The official website of the film described the story as:

In the summer of their third year of elementary school, Tsubasa, a shy boy, meets Akatsuki Tarou, the most popular boy in his class, and they become best friends. The two spend irreplaceable time together in their own little world. However, a small incident tears their relationship apart. This story quietly questions the meaning of life through the friendship and reunion of two boys that spans more than 30 years.
