A new update for the upcoming anime series “Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden” revealed that popular VTuber Tsunomaki Watame will perform the show’s opening theme song. A new visual has also been released. The series will premiere on 6 October, 2026.

VTuber Tsunomaki Watame will perform the anime’s opening theme song ‘Respawn’.
A new visual consisting of Nia, Reliared, and Hildetora drinking tea together has been released.
The cast of the anime so far consists of:

Motoki Nakanishi directs the anime at KONAMI animation, with Haruta Segi as assistant director. Gigaemon Ichikawa handles series composition while Yuki Ito and Kana Tosaoka work together on character designs. Naoki Endo composes the music with Hiromi Kikuta as the sound director.

What is Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden about?
The anime is based on the popular novel series written by Umikaze Minamino and illustrated by Katana Canata. It was published on the user-generated website Shōsetsuka ni Narō from May 2019 to January 2021. Later, Hobby Japan published it under their HJ Bunko imprint with illustrations by Jishaku in 2022. Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden is Minamino’s second work to be adapted into an anime, with the first being Kunon the Sorcerer Can See. A manga adaptation by Kabuto Kodai began in November 2022 on Square Enix’s Manga UP! website.
J Novel Club publishes the books in English and describes the story as:
