Umihoshi Nanai’s romcom manga “Kizuguchi to Hōtai” gets anime adaptation for January 2027

New visuals of the two main characters have been released. 

Umihoshi Nanai’s romcom manga series “Kizuguchi to Hōtai” (Wound and Bandage) is getting an anime adaptation! The anime is set to be released sometime in January 2027. Two versions of the main visual, featuring the two main characters of the manga, have also been released.

What do we know about the Kizuguchi to Hōtai anime so far?

A normal version and a “weak love” version of the key visual have been released, featuring the story’s main characters Riyo Washizu and Gō Kiritani. However, no cast members have been revealed yet.

Miyuki Ishida is directing the romcom anime at J.C. Staff. Susumu Yamakawa is writing the scripts while Natsuki Ōyama designs the characters. 

What is Kizuguchi to Hōtai about?

The original manga series by Umihoshi Nanai has been serialised in Kodansha’s Comic Days service since 2024. The fifth volume of the manga is set to be released on 16 July. 

The story of the manga centres around Riyo Washizu, the granddaughter of a prolific Yakuza group. A young subordinate in the organisation named Gō Kiritani is assigned to be her caretaker. At first, Kiritani thinks of the job as taking care of a docile child. But soon, he finds out that Riyo has a “fetish” where she loves seeing strong people when they’re weak. 

A forbidden romance between a young lady and a young yakuza boss will begin!
