“Thunder 3” anime gets Season 2 for 2027

The first season of the anime ended on 30 September. 

The first season of the action adventure anime “Thunder 3” ended on Wednesday, 30 September. Right after, it was announced that the anime will get a second season in 2027. A new teaser has been revealed for the upcoming season as well.

What do we know about “Thunder 3” Season 2 so far?

The second season of the Thunder 3 anime will premiere sometime in 2027. 

Yuki Ikeda (Hiroya Oku), the creator of the original manga also drew an illustration to celebrate the news.

The first season of the anime’s cast includes:

Hiroyuki Seshita was the chief director of Thunder 3 Season 1 at studio UNEND, with direction by Keisuke Ide. Shin Sugai and Ryunari were the assistant directors. Hiroshi Seko penned the scripts while Frederic Chateau and Akinori Tateyama composed the music.

What is “Thunder 3” about?

The anime is based on Yuki Ikeda’s manga, which was serialised in Kodansha’s Monthly Shōnen Magazine from May 2022 to June 2026. On 24 September, prolific mangaka Hiroya Oku confirmed that he has created the Thunder 3 manga under the pen name Yuki Ikeda. Hiroya Oku is known for his masterpiece manga such as Gantz, Inuyashiki, Hen, and Gigant. 

Kodansha publishes the Thunder 3 manga volumes in English and describes the story as:

Pyontaro is a middle schooler whose little sister, Futaba, simply adores him. One day, he and his buddies—the so-called “Small Three”—decide to watch a weird disc their teacher lent them. Little do the boys realize this disc is linked to another universe…and while they aren’t looking, Futaba gets sucked in! Can Pyontaro and his friends find Futaba? And just what is this other world they’ve discovered?!
