The upcoming fantasy romance anime “The Ogre’s Bride” has revealed its 4 July, 2026 premiere date in its new trailer. Moreover, additional staff members and details about the theme songs of the series have also been revealed. Crunchyroll will stream the anime as part of its summer lineup.

What do we know about The Ogre’s Bride anime so far?
The new trailer has revealed the anime’s opening theme song ‘Hitokoto’ performed by ClariS, and the ending theme song ‘Shinsei’ performed by Ikusaburi Yamazaki.
Kazuhito Omiya directs the anime at Colored Pencil Animation Japan. Yumi Kamakura is in charge of scripts, Hikari Tanaka is designing the main characters, with Hiroko Shigekuni also credited for character designs. Masaru Yokoyama is composing the music.

What is The Ogre’s Bride about?
The anime is based on Kureha’s light-novel series titled Oni no Hanayome (The Ogre’s Bride). It began serialisation on the Novema web platform in 2019, and Starts Publishing later began publishing it in a book format under their Starts Shuppan Bunko imprint in October 2020 with illustrations by Yū Shiroya. A manga adaptation illustrated by Jun Togashi began in December 2021, in Stars Publishing’s noicomi website.

The ayakashi and humans coexist in harmony. The ayakashi, having superior abilities and beautiful appearances, sometimes find their partner among human women, making them their "bride". The bride, in exchange for bringing prosperity, receives absolute love from the ayakashi. Yuzu is constantly compared to her sister, a bride of a demon fox, and is resented by her family every day.
