The reveal was paired with a new promotional video and an additional cast announcement.

The anime is adapted from a novel series by Asa Rokushima which began serialising in the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2021. Kodansha began publishing the story in a book format in 2022 with illustrations by Kisui. In 2021, Kodansha also began publishing a manga adaptation of the novel with illustrations by Mochi Gyōmuyō in Shōnen Magazine R.
