The upcoming fantasy anime “The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a New Life” (Tsuihō Sareta Cheat Fuyo Majutsushi wa Kimamana Second Life o Ōka Suru or Chi-Fuyo for short) just released a new key visual and trailer. It was unveiled that the anime will air sometime in October. Moreover, nine cast members and the main production staff were also revealed.

Shū Honma directs the anime at P.A. Works, with Yoko Yonaiyama handling the scripts. Tadahito Kiyosawa designs the characters while Masami Gohda as the sub-character designer. Kiyosawa and Gohda are also the joint chief animation directors.
What is The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a New Life about?
The anime is adapted from a novel series by Asa Rokushima which began serialising in the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2021. Kodansha began publishing the story in a book format in 2022 with illustrations by Kisui. In 2021, Kodansha also began publishing a manga adaptation of the novel with illustrations by Mochi Gyōmuyō in Shōnen Magazine R.
K-Manga publishes the manga adaptation in English and describes the story as:
