The main cast for this slice-of-life romcom has also been announced.
The anime adaptation of Takuma Yokota's manga, Ponkotsu Fukiiin to Sukato Take ga Futekisetsu na JK no Hanashi (The Story Between a Dumb Prefect and a High School Girl with an Inappropriate Skirt Length), which has been officially given the English title “The Klutzy Class Monitor and the Girl with the Short Skirt” is all set to premiere in April 2026!
The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the series has revealed a new promotional video a teaser visual, as well as a main cast announcement ahead of its Japanese premiere. It is unconfirmed whether or not the anime will be distributed globally.

Junya Enoki will take on the role of the main male protagonist, Tougo Sakuradaimon. Sakuradaimon is a tight-laced school prefect, whose morals and serious demeanour gives way to funny hijinks.
In an official comment celebrating his casting, Enoki states:
Sakuradaimon is a member of the discipline committee and a very serious student. He's so serious that he often ends up going in strange directions, so he may be a pretty crazy character.
When I act, I try not to worry too much about the small details, and just try to act with a good level of enthusiasm.
There are many other unique characters, but they're all good kids, so I think you'll have fun watching! Please look forward to it!
While Riko Akechi will be performing as the female protagonist, Poemu Kohinata. Poemu is a gyaru with a rebellious nature, and specifically hates her school's uniform guidelines. Poemu strikes up an unlikely friendship with Sakuradaimon, whom she constantly butts heads with thanks to her modified skirt length.
Akechi commented on the role, stating:
[Poemu is] a highschool girl with an inappropriate skirt length.
When it comes to her appearance, Sakuradaimon, the discipline committee member, always points out that she violates school rules.
At first, she was opposed to Sakuradaimon, but she realised that he is a very honest person. As she learns more about him, she begins to develop a slight crush on him.
She is embarrassed by her name, Poemu, and does not readily reveal it to those around her. Although she can sometimes speak bluntly, she has a bright and kind personality. She gets very embarrassed when Sakuradaimon praises her.
Meanwhile, Daisuke Iwanaga is directing the series at studio Zero-G, with series composition and screenplay by Masahiro Yokotani. Yuji Onishi, Tomoko Kanaharu are also working with Yokotani on the screenplay, while Akira Himuro handles character design while also being the chief animation director.
The manga that this anime adapts began serialisation in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine since March 2019, and has been compiled into 19 tankobon volumes as of December 2025. The series is yet to receive an English release.

Poemu-chan is a high school girl with an inappropriate skirt length who is stopped every morning during the checks .
The two, who seem like oil and water, suddenly bump into each other one day during extra lessons. Sakuradaimon, who everyone thought was serious and strict, is actually a useless discipline committee member who can't study at all!
They are complete opposites, but as they get to know each other, the distance between them gradually closes. This is a story of youth that begins with the meeting of Sakuradaimon-kun and Poemu-chan.
