Ahead of its July premiere, the upcoming fantasy anime “The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for The Throne” has released its first trailer. The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the anime also revealed four new voice cast members. The series is set to premiere in July 2026, although the exact date is yet unknown.

Yūji Yanase directs the anime at MAHO FILM, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu providing series composition. Kazuko Tadano designs the characters.
What is The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for The Throne about?
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Tanba and illustrated by Yuunagi. It was serialised in the user-generated website Shōsetsuka ni Narō from 2019 to 2024. It was later acquired by Kadokawa Shoten, who has published sixteen book volumes since 2019. Yukino Amagai created a manga adaptation which has been serialised in Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace Up website since December 2019.
Kadokawa publishes both the novels and the manga in English and describes the story as:
Arnold, the seventh Imperial Prince of the Adrasia Empire, is called “THE INSIPID PRINCE” among people since his twin brother is a genius and respected by all people. However, he has a secret identity -SILVER, one of the only five -SS-rank adventurers in the continent. When his younger brother Leo decides to aim for the throne, Arnold starts running things behind the scenes to support his brother. Unexpectedly the most beautiful lady becomes his assistant. The secret struggle of the strongest prince begins!
