Zero-G is animating the new season with returning staff.
After three years of waiting, “The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World” is finally coming back with a second season. According to the latest news from the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, Season 2 will air sometime in October 2026, although the exact date hasn’t been revealed yet.

Zero-G is replacing CLOUDHEARTS as the animation studio for the anime’s second season. Masahiro Takata returns from season 1 as director, series composer, script writer, and sound director of the sequel. Tomoko Shinozuka and Takahito Onishi are also serving as script writers. Mariko Kawamoto is replacing Makoto Shimojima as character designer.

What is The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World about?
The anime is based on a popular light novel series written by Nana Mikoshiba and illustrated by Riko Korie. It first began as a web novel serialised in the user generated website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in October 2019. Kodansha later acquired the series and began publishing its book volumes under the Kodansha Ranobe Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation illustrated by Norihito Sasaki was serialised from 2020 to 2024 Kodansha's Magazine Pocket platform. The anime adaptation by CLOUDHEARTS aired from January to March 2023.
