What is THE GHOST IN THE SHELL about?
THE GHOST IN THE SHELL is based on Masamune Shirow’s cyberpunk sci-fi manga Ghost in the Shell which was released from April 1989 to November 1990, in Kodansha’s Young Magazine Zōkan Kaizokuban.
The series takes place in a futuristic world where people have cyberbrains. Unfortunately, this deep dependence on technology also means the public’s brain is really susceptible to hackers. Set in 2029, the story follows Chief Daisuke Aramaki and Major Mokoto Kusanagi as they try to catch one such hacker who’s been terrorising the citizens. But things soon go wrong.
