The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the upcoming fantasy anime “The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects” has unveiled its 10 July, 2026 premiere. The news was shared alongside a new trailer which gives us a glimpse of the two main characters Dias and Alna. Two new characters and their voice actors have also been revealed.

What is The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects about?
The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects anime is based on a light novel series written by Fuurou and illustrated by Kinta. It began serialisation on the user generated website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in January 2018. It was later published by Earth Star Entertainment under their Earth Star Novel imprint in October 2018. In December 2018, a manga adaptation illustrated by Yumbo began publication on the Comic Earth Star website.
J Novel Club publishes the series in English and describes the story as:
Dias finally returns home after decades of war. He’s hailed a hero and promptly rewarded with his own domain...which turns out to be little more than empty plains. Population: zero. Dias, who has only ever known battle, finds himself at a loss. How is he supposed to survive, let alone cultivate his territory into a thriving, prosperous dominion when there’s nothing but grass as far as he can see? Fortunately for Dias, a horned girl by the name of Alna is about to show him there’s more to the plains than meets the eye!
