The anime is based on Yoneori’s web novel of the same name, which began serialising in the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2019. Kadokawa began publishing the light novel series with illustrations by Akane Nito in 2020. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Nana Kogami, launched on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker website in 2020.
