I'm so surprised that The Fake Alchemist is actually getting an anime adaptation... This is all thanks to everyone who has supported us. Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy it.

The comment from manga illustrator Umemaru states (machine translated):

The anime adaptation of The Fake Alchemist has been decided! Thank you! I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Sugiura, everyone who was involved in the work, and all the readers who have supported us. I am very happy that this beloved work, which I have been involved in as the artist, will be given new life by the hands of such wonderful staff. As a fan of The Fake Alchemist, I am looking forward to the day when I can enjoy the finished animation together with everyone.

What is The Fake Alchemist about?

The anime is based on Jirō Sugiura and Umemaru’s manga, which is a remake of a webcomic written and drawn by Sugiura and published on his Pixiv account. The manga version has been serialised in Kadokawa’s KadoComi and Nico Nico Seiga websites since June 2023.

Yen Press publishes the manga in English in print format and describes the story as:

“Please help me, Master!”

One young man transported to another world. One young woman taken from home and put up for sale. One way forward: alchemy and a can-do attitude! Life’s tough in a dark fantasy world when you don’t have any combat powers. Life’s tougher when you’re a slave. But together—and with the right doses of analysis and patience—Paracelsus and Nora might just be able to make it work…!
