The compilation movie will feature scenes from the second season, as well as all-new footage of Anna and Kyotaro.
The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the “The Dangers in My Heart” (Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu, shortened commonly to BokuYaba) anime has unveiled new details for its upcoming compilation film, with a premiere date set for 13 February 2026, which includes a new cast member and new character visuals for the in-anime band “Primary COLOR”, headlined by Kyotaro’s older sister, Kana.
“The Dangers in My Heart The Movie” details
The new cast member is Momoka Terasawa, who will voice Kana’s college friend and band drummer, Momoyama Akane. In celebration of her casting, Terasawa included a comment to the cast announcement, and states (through a machine translation):
I was so thrilled when I heard the announcement that I would be involved with That Boku Yaba!
In the anime, Momochann makes her debut in the theatrical edition, but she's a landmine girl with a bit of a strong personality, yet somehow has an endearing charm that makes her impossible to hate... That's the image I have of her. Since she was a completely new type of character for me to tackle, I had a lot of fun while performing her.
By the way, in the in-film song 'To Be Continued,' I also handled the harmonies. Looking forward to your support!
She comes as part of Kana’s rookie rock band “Primary COLOR”, whose visuals were revealed as well:
Fans were also able to see them in action through stills posted by the official account:
Although a new movie is coming along for BokuYaba, the anime is yet to confirm a Season 3. Season 2 aired from January to March 2024, and was directed by Hiroaki Akagi at Shin-Ei Animation, with Jukki Hanada handling scripts and series composition, and music composed by Kensuke Ushio. The staff for Season 2 originally worked on the first season for BokuYaba, which aired from April to June 2023.
The anime is based on the manga written and illustrated by Norio Sakurai, and is currently still ongoing with 12 tankobon volumes.
The official website for the BokuYaba movie describes the story as:
Kyotaro Ichikawa is a boy with a complex about his middle school syndrome who loves to read books like "Murder Encyclopedia" and "Anatomy Diagrams". Anna Yamada, a popular girl in class, suddenly enters Ichikawa's quiet world!
They stuff their faces with rice balls and hum in the library. Then, they suddenly get closer...
Although Ichikawa was confused by Yamada's unpredictable words and actions, before he knew it, Yamada was filling his mind. Meanwhile, as Yamada talks with Ichikawa, she gradually becomes more curious about his presence. For the first time, they discover the feeling of "love."
Overcoming their misunderstandings and awkward feelings, the distance between them slowly but surely closes.
