The second season of The Cat and the Dragon is officially in production and will stream on Crunchyroll.
The official website and social media accounts for The Cat and the Dragon have announced that the anime will return for a second season in 2027. Crunchyroll has also confirmed that it will stream the second season when it premieres.
The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer for the upcoming season.

What do we know about The Cat and Dragon Season 2 so far?

Main staff is unconfirmed for Season 2, but unless announced otherwise, it is more than likely that it, alongside cast, will remain the same.
Jin Gu-Oh directed the fantasy anime at studio OLM. Mitsutaka Hirota handled series composition, while Chiaki Kurakazu and Rie Nishino designed the characters. Takahiro Obata composed the music with Noriyoshi Konuma as the sound director.
What is The Cat and the Dragon about?
The Cat and the Dragon is based on Amara's light novel series, which was originally published on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website from September 2013 to June 2014.
Takarajimasha publishes the light novels in print in Japan, with 10 volumes currently available. Izumi Sasaki also illustrates a manga adaptation of the series, which currently has 13 volumes.
The first season of the anime aired from July to September 2026 on Crunchyroll, which describes the story as:
An orphan since hatched, a lone dragon named “Uncle Wings” is taken in by a family of magic-wielding cats and raised as one of their own. As Uncle Wings grows, he becomes the cats’ protector, determined to keep them safe from humans. But as he watches the cats connect with humans using their magic, Uncle Wings slowly starts to warm up to humans in this heartfelt, bittersweet tale.
