It was announced during the GA FES 2026 livestream that the popular Spring 2025 anime The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows is getting a second season! The announcement came with a brand new key visual and promotional video for the upcoming season.

Unfortunately, no other details about the upcoming sequel of the anime were revealed. The first season of The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows premiered on 3 April, 2025. The cast includes:

Joe Ishizaki was the director of the first season at Makaria Inc. Taika Miyagi wrote the scripts while Denpūōgi and Yoshihiro Sawada designed the characters. It hasn’t been confirmed if the staff will be returning for the second season.
The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows anime is based on the popular light novel series written by Sakaku Hishikawa and illustrated by Daburyu. It also has a manga adaptation by Ten Junoichi. J-Novel Club publishes both the books and the manga in English and describes the story as:
Life hasn’t been kind to Zenos. He was born in the slums, and his dirt-poor background has denied him almost every opportunity. After an encounter with a healer, he throws himself into studying to become one and finally catches a break when an adventurer invites Zenos into his party. Zenos is thrilled—so thrilled, in fact, that he’s willing to put up with his teammates treating him like garbage.
They fail to appreciate his talents and ultimately kick him to the curb, claiming he’s outlived his usefulness to them. Now bereft of money and out of options, Zenos decides to put his self-taught skills to use elsewhere and opens an underground clinic.
